Micro Nav have launched a unique software suite that is revolutionising the speed and cost of creating 3D visual and operational models of airports for design, planning, evaluation and testing.

FAST AIRPORT BUILDER (FAB)

The Fast Airport Builder allows users to create accurate 3D visual models of their airport quickly and easily. Different designs can be modelled and tested rapidly so that the optimum solutions can be iterated and tested economically.

Satellite, aerial photographs or airport CAD drawings provide the underlay onto which the airfield and 3D items are accurately drawn. The resulting model is ready for use in FAB and can also be run in the BEST tower simulator image generator.

FAB can be used as a stand-alone tool or it can be integrated with the BEST ATC simulator to cover the evaluation of airport operations as well as its layout.

BEST ATC SIMULATOR

The BEST advanced air traffic control simulator covers airport ground and air operations. It covers fast-time and real-time simulations.

The BEST data preparation tools that create the airport and ATC environment also allow users to create the 3D visual scenes. The ATC data and the visual data are correlated so that aircraft and vehicles move correctly throughout the scene and displays. The associated ground and radar situation displays are created automatically at the same time.

BEST IMAGE GENERATOR

The new Imagine image generation system is fully integrated with the advanced BEST ATC tower simulator and FAB. BEST drives all of the selections and dynamic effects through the Visual Gateway.

The image generator is placed in the mainstream development path of the latest 3D graphics cards for PCs. As new graphics cards come on to the market the BEST user can take the benefit of increased performance. The BEST visual sub-system is thereby future proofed; technology upgrades are easy and affordable.
