Micro Nav has more than 70 customers in over 35 countries around the world. Micro Nav's systems are used to train Air Traffic Controllers at some of the busiest airports in the world. The Company offices are located in Seabourne Road, Southbourne and are only a few minutes walk from Pokesdown train station.

Systems Engineer – based in Bournemouth

We are looking to recruit a Systems Requirements Engineer to join our growing team. If successful, you will ensure customer requirements are captured, analysed, and translated into an agreed high-level specification comprised of functional requirements (or Use Cases) for use by the engineering team.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in defining and capturing requirements, developing system level designs and seeing work through to customer acceptance.

Any experience of Air Traffic Control, flight simulation or aviation will be a distinct advantage.

Micro Nav is an award-winning company and world leader in the delivery of simulation and training solutions for Air Traffic Control operations. One of our industry leading products, INTERACT, integrates an ATC environment within commercial grade flight simulators.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Simulation Data Engineer to join our growing INTERACT team. The successful candidate will have the ATM knowledge necessary to interpret published aeronautical charts and replicate this information within the simulation database. The role will be responsible for the creation of the simulation data for both air and ground environments. In addition, generation of realistic scenarios, which simulate real-world aircraft operations and traffic patterns, are also the responsibility of the Simulation Data Engineer. Reporting to the Data Manager, the role requires a motivated self-starter, who will use the in-house data creation applications to produce the required data. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have experience working within a multidiscipline team. As the role is new within the company, the appointee will have a considerable scope to develop processes and shape the tools required to optimise the data creation and scenario/traffic generation tasks.

Mandatory Skills and Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of aviation and flight simulation
  • Educated to degree level, or 10+ years domain experience
  • Ability to travel on international assignments
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of air traffic control operations and/or flight operations

Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage:

  • ICAO PANS-OPS conversant
  • Data creation tasks that replicate real world operations
  • Developing and documenting processes and workflows
  • Working within a multidiscipline team
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a product development team
  • Experience in the use of version control systems to manage data

We are seeking for a highly motivated System Delivery Team Leader to manage our System Delivery Team. The System Delivery Team are engaged throughout the project lifecycle to specify, estimate, procure, install, commission and transition our world class Air Traffic Control Simulator solutions to civilian and military customers globally.

Mandatory Skills and Requirements:

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products, and VMWare products.
  • Good understanding of IT hardware and software specifications and network design.
  • High level of understanding of ICT Installation and hardware / software acceptance techniques.
  • Ability to travel to Customer sites and represent the company globally.
  • 5+ years’ experience of software and hardware deployments.
  • Strong IT administration skills.
  • Proven ability to work with multiple, conflicting demands under time pressure.

 

The following are not mandatory but would be a distinct advantage:

  • Familiarity with the ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Familiarity with bespoke electronic hardware components.
  • Experience and knowledge of the ATC / ATM environment and general aviation.
  • Experience and knowledge of simulation.
  • Knowledge of export protocol and practices.
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer accreditation.
  • Experience with power distribution /electrical certification.
