Lion Roams Bournemouth
24 November 2011
Chalky one of the Bournemouth Pride lions was presented to Julia's House by Micro Nav Ltd and will
soon be roaming around Bournemouth.
Micro Nav Ltd, a local Air Traffic Control simulation company,
bought Chalky at the Bournemouth Pride auction and has donated him
to the children's hospice.
The founders of Micro Nav Ltd, Mike Male and Fred Johnson, bid
for Chalky in September when the staff from Julia's House picked
him because of his special blackboard surface which will be fun for
the children to draw and write on.
Mike said: "Micro Nav is an active supporter of Julia's House so
we were pleased to be able to bid for a lion for them. They decided
Chalky would be perfect and we were delighted to capture him. Today
we are releasing him to take pride of place at the hospice and we
hope the children will have great fun playing with him."
"Chalky is already at home at Julia's House and the children are
enjoying him already too, not to mention the care team. We
are extremely thankful to Micro Nav for such a wonderful
gift. Chalky is going to make lots of children smile and
become one of their friends in the garden" said Caroline Gogan,
Corporate Fundraiser for Julia's House.
Chalky may also be seen this winter roaming around corporate
supporters to help raise awareness and funds for the hospice.
Micro Nav Ltd staff have been raising money for Julia's House
and have recently held a sponsored car wash, run in the hospice 10k
race, held a car boot sale and quiz night.
