Micro Nav Awarded another Project by Serbia and Montenegro
28 April 2015
Micro Nav (MNL) has been selected to supply a BEST radar simulation system to Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services (SMATSA) following completion of a public procurement procedure and subsequent invitation to tender distributed in January 2015.
This latest contract award further highlights the positive working relationship between the SMATSA and Micro Nav teams. In 2014 MNL was honoured to be selected to provide SMATSA with its BEST 3D Tower simulator which is currently being delivered on time and to budget.
Micro Nav’s BEST Radar simulator to be delivered to SMATSA during 2016 will consist of 16 controller and 12 pilot positions including consoles, fully compliant with SESAR2020 functionalities (including AMAN and i4D over ADS-C), speech recognition and a full suite of communications systems. By selecting Micro Nav for the 2015 radar simulator project SMATSA will enable full interoperability between the BEST Radar simulator and the BEST 3D Tower simulator.
Micro Nav’s BEST Radar simulator will help SMATSA to continue with their good business practice acquired through more than 50 years of ATCO training within the SMATSA Training centre in Belgrade, for air traffic control officers now working for АТМ providers throughout the world. Since 1964, more than 2,500 air traffic control officers have been trained in the SMATSA training centre.
Mike Male, ATM Director & Founder at Micro Nav said ‘We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and the opportunity that it brings to continue our relationship with SMATSA following on from our successful collaborative work on the 3D Tower project’.
