THE MICRO NAV BEST ATC SIMULATORS ARE A HIT AT ATC GLOBAL AMSTERDAM

Micro Nav welcomed a record number of visitors to their stand during the three days of the ATC Global show in Amsterdam on 11 to 13 March 2008. This was the first time that the ATC show had been held in Amsterdam after many years in Maastricht. This event is rated as the world’s leading specialised gathering that brings together the major players in ATM from around the world.

Micro Nav demonstrated their BEST Air Traffic Control 3D tower simulators and the latest additions to their Fast Airport Builder tool. The tower views were shown on three Barco 47” LCD screens. The new BEST radar facilities including the simulated flight data processing system and advanced controller displays were presented on a Barco ISIS 2k x 2k display.

During the show Micro Nav announced two major contract wins.

The Royal Netherlands Air Force have selected the BEST simulators to meet their training requirements for controllers operating at all the main Dutch military airfields. The order includes a 360-degree 3D tower and an eight sector radar simulator. Fast Airport Builder will enable the Air Force to create and maintain all the 3D visual models of their airfields quickly and easily themselves. (Read the full Press Release here).

Anadolu University in Turkey have ordered a 360-degree 3D tower simulator and advanced radar simulator for an important research and training initiative. Both simulators can be run independently providing simultaneous multi-sector exercises for research and training. They can also be combined for integrated tower and radar exercises.
