What Are We Looking For?
We want someone to grow and evolve Micro Nav's automated testing and continuous integration capabilities. Reporting into our Head of Quality Assurance and Systems, you'll be using tools such as Test Complete, Jenkins, Python, and anything else you identify as useful to further drive our engineering team in harnessing automation. There is also potential to lead the growth of this department in the future.
Your Day-to-Day:
Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
Create tickets to document failures
Ensure all automated testing activities are carried out per standards defined by Micro Nav
Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
Help troubleshoot issues
Report bugs and errors to development teams
Review and analyse system specifications, Defects, and User Stories
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Who are you?
You have some knowledge or interest in Air Traffic Control or Aviation, with some experience of software testing within these domains
You're able to travel in the UK and internationally to meet end-users and customers
You've worked in agile environments before, and have experience in agile and waterfall software development lifecycles
You can manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on individual deadlines
You're enthusiastic, proactive, and have a mindset for modernisation
You're an excellent verbal and written communicator
You uphold the highest standards in your work and can be a reliable member of our team
You are empathetic and supportive of your colleagues and thrive in cross-team collaborative environments
Technical Requirements
5+ years of software testing experience for various applications and customer acceptance activities (ideally in an ISO9001 or equivalent environment)
3+ years experience of writing end-to-end tests
ISTQB software testing qualification or equivalent
Experience with test automation tools, including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
Familiarity with current/modern testing techniques such as BDD
Basic SQL querying for verifying data
Experience with ticketing and workflow systems ideally JIRA
Experience using Xray plugin for Jira
API/Rest testing experience
Knowledge of UX/UI testing.
