Micro Nav is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) to deliver a comprehensive turnkey ATC simulation solution to the East African School of Aviation (EASA) in Nairobi.
The contract, secured through a public tendering process initiated by KCAA will enhance the training capabilities at EASA's facility.
This development comes as EASA prepares for upcoming training courses scheduled for later in 2025, reinforcing its status as a Regional Training Centre of Excellence (RTCE) in ICAO's TRAINAIR Plus Programme.
The BEST simulation suite will enable EASA to deliver customised training environments specific to the needs of KCAA controllers and those from other ANSPs who attend courses at the facility. The solution places emphasis on quality of learning experience, incorporating advanced record and replay debriefing capabilities alongside innovative features from BEST Insights.
These enhanced functionalities will support EASA in delivering high-quality ATC training across a comprehensive range of courses, including Basic control, Aerodrome control, Approach control (both procedural and surveillance), Area control (both procedural and surveillance), refresher courses, and emergency scenario preparation.
Micro Nav has established a long-term support agreement, aligning with the company's standard methodology when partnering with users.
The scope of the contract extends beyond the simulation technology to include facility refurbishment and civil works at the EASA premises, ensuring the infrastructure accommodates the latest generation of our BEST simulator.
This significant investment by KCAA represents a powerful statement for the future of our partnership and holds great promise for the wider development of the aviation sector across the Africa region.
